Imperfect...

I am no expert, and I will not even pretend to be, but I am learning!  I enjoy sewing and in particular making quilts/blankets, but I have a difficult time with keeping things square and perfect.  So this type of a quilt is perfect for me, no cut pieces, no pattern...

Even so, I never realized how difficult jean can be to work with - seems like it would be fairly easy although heavy material, but the jeans with a bit of spandex does crazy things when you start to piece it together.  There are puckers and imperfections throughout this blanket, but I feel like it show the learning process. I am learning and trying; that is all that I will ask of myself!

I backed this blanket with flannel, so not only is it heavy it is extra warm and durable - perfect for some of these freezing nights watching little league games.  Also for cozy reading on the chair by the fire (in the winter months!).

I love that I decided to use the pockets of jeans randomly in this blanket.  I was not sure that I wanted to prior to starting this project, but I am so happy with how it turned out!

After a brief hiatus I am back to the blogging world.  Sometimes life gets in the way of extras in life, and my crafty blog is definitely and extra.  I am working on a different project that I will be sure to share this week.
